Overview
The Fleet Manager Configuration Groups service manages OpenTelemetry Collector configurations delivered to connected agents. A configuration group holds versioned families. Each family contains Collector YAML and agent selectors that match agent attributes. Activate a family to make its configurations available to matching agents.
List configuration groups
Lists fleet-manager configuration groups, newest first. Archived groups are excluded unless include_archived is true.
Create configuration group
Creates a configuration group with its initial family. Send group settings and a single `family` object as the request body; the response returns the created group with its latest `family`. Set `family.active` to `true` to make the initial configuration available to matching agents. When `active` is omitted, the family is inactive. A successful response confirms creation; check Fleet Management for agent application status.
Get configuration group
Returns a configuration group with its latest family. Family `active` indicates eligibility for delivery, not whether an agent has successfully applied the configuration. An archived group returns 404 unless `include_archived=true`; when included, an archived group is returned with its latest configuration family, which may itself be archived.
Update configuration group
Updates the fields listed in `update_mask`; other fields are unchanged. Changing `family.raw` or `family.preset` creates a new configuration family version only when the content changes. Send group field values directly in the request body. To activate the latest family, send `{'family':{'active':true}}` with `update_mask=family.active`. The response contains the latest family. An archived group returns 404.
Archive configuration group
Archives a fleet-manager configuration group. An already archived group returns 404.
